Davidson United Methodist Church Choir
France Tour
June 14–22, 2024
Members of our church choirs, including youth, young adults, and the Chancel Choir visited France as part of an ongoing commemoration of the eightieth anniversary of D-Day. We sang in a group of about 140 singers in Duruflé’s Requiem in the abbey in Caen. The next day we toured and had a wreath-laying ceremony at the American Cemetery on Omaha Beach. We toured and sang a program at Chartres Cathedral. We took bus and boat tours of Paris, and sang a concert at La Madeleine. After a free day of sightseeing, we flew home.

Our overnight flight from Charlotte took us to Munich, Germany. The screens at our seats could show pictures from cameras on the plane. This shot was from the camera on the tail, showing our approach to the terminal. We landed around 9:30 am, Munich time, on Saturday, June 15. Three hours later we were on a plane to Paris.
