The Hague

We sailed to Schoonhoven, and the next morning headed on the bus for The Hague. We were given an early entry into the municipal art museum, which besides the modern art and design it was temporarily housing many of the Old Masters from the museum that was closed for repairs and renovations. Besides Mondrians (and even a boy's bedroom designed after the style of Mondrian) there were Rembrandts, Vermeers, etc. We stopped at the Peace Palace for photos.

There was construction going on, so I couldn't get much of a shot from the bus of the building below. It is used by King Willem-Alexander as his "working palace." It supposedly was converted into a palace in the 1500s from a medieval farm house. Amsterdam is the capital, but The Hague is the seat of government, or something odd like that.
