SMU Reunion and Oklahoma Tour

September 24 – October 12

On September 24 I flew to Dallas first of all to visit with Ron Dougherty, one of my best friends from Davidson days, then to attend the MSM reunion at SMU, and to finish the trip with traveling around Oklahoma with Torrey Curtis, one of my best friends from SMU days.

On Friday, September 25, Ron and I visited the Dallas Arboretum, which had just been decorated for fall.

Here's a short video shot from under the waterfall:

Ron took several pictures that incuded me. He documents friends' visits as well as his travels on his website.

On Sunday night, September 27, the reunion began for alumni of the Master of Sacred Music program at SMU. I was not the oldest participant, but until the final banquet I was the person there who had received the degree the earliest, as far as I know. At the closing banquet, Dr. Carlton R. Young (Sam) gave a presentation that showed how contemporary worship can connect with the texting generation:

On Wednesday morning Torrey picked me up at Ron's, and we headed to Oklahoma.
