Then we headed the short distance on to Gretna Green, "famous for runaway weddings since 1754," just inside Scotland. The weddings seem to be more planned now, and we passed a carriage on the way there. Then we saw the wedding party when we arrived. There are many little shops. Perhaps it is not the cheapest place to buy Scotch.
