Van Excursion out of Skagway, May 30, 2002

On the van excursion we could see the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway which some of our fellow ship passengers rode. We followed much of the route on the highway on the other side of the river.

We crossed into Canada and had some time to take pictures at the stop there. Interestingly enough, we were not stopped by any Canadian officials or anything. Our bus was boarded by US border agents when we headed back into Alaska. The trees that may look young or distant in the pictures are really mature trees not far away. That far north the tree line is at not so great elevation, so that's as big as they get there.
